I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" the American as the two fighters met personally to promote the upcoming bout.

Ex two-time world boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

Despite such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually going ahead.
